How much does it cost?
Our cost is based on an hourly rate at a fraction of the cost of an attorney. The length of mediation depends on the complexity of your situation. Dominant factors include property and financial division, spousal and child support and of course the most important: your willingness to come to an agreement.
What if we don't reach a decision?
Then nothing is resolved. You can stop the mediation process at any time and either work it out together, hire an attorney or file a lawsuit on your own. However, we will work diligently with you to ensure an agreement is reached.
Is the agreement legally binding?
Yes, once the suit is filed and the court adopts the settlement agreement.
What if down the road my or my spouse's situation changes?
You can return to mediation to renegotiate your agreement, or hire an attorney to lead you through this process. In either case, an amendment must be filed with the court.
What if I need legal advice, can I hire an attorney?
Yes. We encourage you to have your agreement reviewed by an attorney if you feel the need to do so as we are not attorneys and can not represent either party.
Will we always meet as a couple or can we meet individually?
Under normal circumstances, both parties will participate in all sessions. However, if either party feels the need for an individual meeting, this will be respected. The mediator can also request individual meetings if this will facilitate forward movement.
When and where will we meet? How often?
Sessions will be conducted in our office, and we will do our best to accommodate your schedules, including evenings and weekends. How often is up to you. However, we encourage regular meetings, with no more than two weeks between sessions to encourage forward movement.
Can others particiate in mediation?
Yes, if both parties agree.
Do we have to file the divorce?
All divorce agreements must be filed with the court to be finalized. You can file on your own, or hire someone to do that for you.

Do we have to appear in court?
The goal of mediation is to avoid a lengthy and costly divorce process, and
reach mutual agreement without the need for a trial. However, at least one party must appear in court for the final hearing where the court adopts the settlement agreement.
